Reels Up Guide Service operates out of New London, Connecticut, with direct access to the Thames River and nearby inshore fishing grounds. This locations allows for flexibility to fish tides and conditions efficiently without long runs.
Trips are planned around peak fishing windows, not fixed schedules. Depending on tides and conditions, departures may be early morning, daytime, or evening to put you on the water when the bite makes sense.
Reels Up Guide Service is owner-operated by Captain Andrew Ferrara. Fishing has been part of my life for over two decades, starting with family trips and growing into a full-time focus on running quality charters the right way.
I primarily target striped bass and seasonal inshore species, tailoring each trip to current conditions rather than a preset plan. My background includes both saltwater and freshwater fishing, which has shaped a practical, no-nonsense approach on the water.
When you book a trip, you’re fishing with me. I don’t overbook, rush trips, or hand clients off. The goal is simple: run a safe, well-rigged boat, fish hard, and give you a solid day on the water.
Reels Up Guide Service is licensed and insured, and I hold accreditation through the Nautical School of Maritime Licensing.
MEET YOUR CAPTAIN
I’m Andrew, owner and captain of Reels Up Guide Service. I grew up fishing these waters and learned early that time on the boat isn’t about numbers alone—it’s about the people you share it with and the memories you take home.
Fishing runs deep in my family. What started as days on the water with my father turned into a lifelong passion that I turned into a business. Today, I run every trip myself, putting the same effort into each charter that I would if it were my own friends or family onboard.
I take pride in running a clean, well-rigged boat and staying dialed in on the bite. From inshore striped bass to offshore runs, my focus is simple: put you in the right place, fish hard, and give you a trip you’ll talk about long after it’s over.
When you book with Reels Up, you’re not getting handed off to a random captain—you’re fishing with me. I want every client to feel comfortable, confident, and part of the experience, whether it’s your first time fishing or you’ve been doing it your whole life.
